Hi, I am Maya and I am going to write about the Descendants saga.

There has only been two books written, but they are very realistic: when you read them, you feel like you are watching the show, but you are only reading. The two books are called The Isle of the Lost and Return to The Isle of the Lost.
Sólo se han escrito dos libros, pero son muy realistas: cuando los lees, sientes que estás viendo el programa. Los libros se llaman The Isle of the Lost y Return to the Isle of the Lost.

THE ISLE OF THE LOST
In The Isle of the Lost you learn about the villains’ children. Maleficent’s child is Mal; she wasn’t given the whole name because her mother said she wasn’t evil enough for the rest. Cruella De Vil’s child is named Carlos; he has taught himself how to drive a car and how to swim. Most people on the Isle of the Lost don’t know how to swim, they just drown. Jafar’s child is named Jay; he likes running around the island, jumping rooftop to rooftop, and stealing. Sometimes, Jay and Mal make it a contest for whoever picks up more. Evil Queen’s daughter is Evie; she is a girly girl who loves applying makeup, and hopes to marry a cute prince in Auradon. Mal likes to use spray paint and write on the walls “Long live evil”. Carlos likes making cool machines. Evie likes sewing in her studio. Jay likes stealing people’s wallets and riding in dump trucks.
En The Isle of the Lost te enteras que los villanos tienen hijos. La hija de Maléfica se llama Mal; no le dieron el nombre completo porque su madre dijo que no era lo suficientemente maligna. El hijo de Cruella de Vil es Carlos; él mismo aprendió a manejar y a nadar. Los habitantes de la isla no saben nadar; simplemente se ahogan. El hijo de Jafar se llama Jay; le gusta correr por la isla, brincar por los techos y robar. A veces, Jay y Mal se retan para ver quién consigue más. La hija de la Reina Malvada se llama Evie; una chica muy femenina que le gusta maquillarse y desea algún día casarse con un príncipe de Auradon. A Mal le gusta pintar en las paredes “Larga vida al mal”. A Carlos le gusta inventar máquinas asombrosas. A Evie le gusta coser en su estudio. Y a Jay, robar carteras y cabalgar camiones de basura.

RETURN TO THE ISLE OF THE LOST
In Return to The Isle of the Lost, the four soon to be villains go to Auradon Prep, and plan to get the fairy Godmother’s wand and release every unhearted from the isle and take over the world. But in order for that to happen, the two girls, Mal and Evie, got their mothers’ things. Evie gets her mother’s magic mirror and Mal gets Maleficent’s spell book. When the children go to Auradon, Mal falls in love with a prince named Ben, son of Beauty and the Beast; and Evie falls in love with a prince named Chad, son of Cinderella. Carlos and Jay fall in love with the same girl, Audrey, daughter of Sleeping Beauty…
En Return to The Isle of the Lost, los cuatro futuros villanos van a la preparatoria en Auradon. Ahí planean robarle la varita mágica a la hada madrina para liberar a todos los “sin corazón” de la isla y conquistar el mundo. Para ello, Evie y Mal utilizan artefactos de sus madres. Evie consigue el espejo mágico y Mal, el libro de hechizos de Maléfica. Pero en Auradon Mal se enamora de un príncipe llamado Ben, hijo de la Bella y la Bestia; y Evil, de un príncipe llamado Chad, hijo de Cenicienta. Carlos y Jay se enamoran de la misma chica, Audrey, hija de la Bella Durmiente…

Maya Christensen is 8 years old and loves to read and write. She wants to be a writer when she grows up; she loves to talk about story ideas and write them based on her family, they give her inspiration to write. Maya was typing on the computer since she was 5 years old. Most of her family are teachers: her mom, her nana and her tio Mike. Maya started writing now because she wanted to correct mistakes and know how to write perfectly, like her tío Mike. She lets her heart flow free when she is writing and reading, that is a big part of her life. Reading takes Maya’s mind to another world, a fantasy world. She also likes doing gymnastics, she is a pro at that.
Maya Christensen tiene 8 años y ama leer y escribir. Cuando crezca quiere ser una escritora. Le encanta compartir sus ideas para cuentos y escribirlas, basándose en su familia, que es su inspiración. Maya escribe en la computadora desde que tiene 5 años. Varios miembros de su familia son maestros, como su mamá, abuela y tío Mike. Maya comenzó a escribir esta columna porque quiere corregir errores y aprender a escribir perfectamente, como su tío Mike. Maya deja que su corazón fluya libremente cuando lee y escribe; es una parte importantísima de su vida. Leer traslada su mente a otro mundo, a uno de fantasía. También le gusta la gimnasia, es toda una profesional.
